“Just living is not enough… one must have sunshine, freedom, and a little flower”
– Hans Christian Andersen

Brenda and I picked the one day this week that was sandwiched by rain. The morning was windy, cloudy, and not looking all that promising.  But wouldn’t you know it, the minute we drove out to our location, the sun peeked out and stayed shining bright the entire time we were out there. A true testament to Brenda’s sunny disposition. She has recently moved home to Eugene from Santa Barbara, and kept remarking how much she loved being back in Oregon. Joy emitted from her as she felt the moss on her feet, and saw all the plants and water she had missed so much. We frolicked in the stream and climbed into trees. I was so happy and honored to capture these moments of a girl back in her natural habitat.

I want to thank Brenda for coming out with me and for bringing the sun with her. We were able to walk around and catch up, and since this was the first time I’d seen her since she’d been home, it wasn’t a surprise when we looked down and it had been over two hours. “Oregon sun is so different than California sun” she kept saying as we both soaked it in. As we were leaving, the rain came, and we couldn’t help but laugh and the perfect timing of the whole day. Big hugs to my girl Brenda. I hope you love your pictures.

Jase + McKenna + Baby // Oregon Maternity

When McKenna and Jase asked me what time I wanted to meet with them in the morning, I said “I’d like to leave no later than 7:30.” After they got past the initial shock (I guess not everyone is the early riser I am), they agreed to be ready to go by then. It was a beautiful Oregon morning and when we got to our location they saw why I begged them to get up early enough to catch the light with me!  They were also brave enough to trust me when I said, “Pull over in this gravel path and walk with me under the train bridge to the river.” McKenna is due in 6 weeks and we are all so excited to meet this little bundle of joy!

And of course we can’t leave without a classic silly face… cuz that’s just who these two are.
